Coppa Lauda

Valentina Cameranesi-Sgroi continues to push the boundaries of borosilicate glass (a material usually reserved for scientific instruments). Inspired by ritual and theatricality, this vessel was conceived as one for a banquet – intended to be used for wine, champagne, cream, something a bit indulgent – all in pursuit of life’s most sensuous pleasures. Its lace-inspired surface is reminiscent of the textural quality of a special garment, one that evokes a sense of nostalgia and sentimentality – culminating in a vessel that is treasured and well-loved.
