Werkstätte Hagenauer Wien Bell
Werkstätte Hagenauer Wien (wHw) was founded by Austrian designer Carl Hagenauer in 1898. His eldest son, Karl Hagenauer, studied at the Vienna School of Applied Arts alongside renowned designers such as Josef Hoffman and Oskar Strnad. In 1919 he assumed the head of production of the family business and began producing designs comparable to those of the Wiener Werkstätte. He was quite prolific, and his range of exquisite lighting and small objects were highly regarded within Vienna and abroad. This charming silver bell exemplifies Hagenauer’s style, exhibiting an elegant Art Deco geometric pattern that was popular at the time.
