Brontes Table Lamp

Cini Boeri is one of the most innovative and influential Italian artists and designers of the 20th century. Born in Milan, she studied architecture at Milan Polytechnic Institute University, and went on to collaborate with renowned Italian architects like Gio Ponti and Vico Magistretti. Boeri also embarked on furniture and lighting design, working for companies such as Artemide, Knoll and Arflex. The Brontes Lamp was designed in 1980 and is a seminal Postmodern work. Its scalloped glass shield-like shade has a ribbed metallic finish with rubber edging. The shade can rotate to various positions, influencing the way in which the light is diffused within a room. Its metal base is enveloped in a high gloss burgundy lacquer finish, culminating in a sculptural and anthropomorphic lamp.
