Ceramic Flower Brick 027

McDonald's series of six Ceramic Flower Bricks are substantial in scale and able to hold large clusters of flowers. They are comprised of subdued creamy stoneware and ochre glazes.Their forms reference historical stoves and vases from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, as well as bricks and tiles from American ceramic factories. Created using slab-constructions and extruded ornamentation, they recall industrial modes of production, while simultanously remaining imprecisely unique.
