Cherry Basket

Cherry Basket by Sophie Stone is the result of many years of growth and accrual, an ever-evolving work that has ultimately arrived at completion. Though technically a vessel, the bottom is not enclosed and the work is to be placed like a cup, air drying upside down. The work is composed of natural sisal, vibrant silk, acrylic and beads. In conversation with Stone’s Tuffet, the basket is a looser iteration of the rigid flower shape, appearing as though it is unraveling or coming undone.
