St. James Hotel Armchair
This armchair was designed for the St. James Hotel in Bouillac, France by architect Jean Nouvel in 1990. The rounded, supple cushions are intended for simple comfort and relaxed posture. Almost cartoonish in appearance, the seat and back rest are crafted from molded polyurethane foam and covered in neon orange cotton slipcovers. Aluminum and lacquered steel comprise the frame, and the chair blended seamlessly within the sophisticated hotel’s sparse yet sculptural architectural environment.
