Inspired by medieval English and French pottery, Jordan McDonald’s large Fraktur series explores the churlishness of ceramic material, and the inherent “push and pull” in the vessels’ construction. The vase is hand carved with decorative patterning, referencing historical motifs. A pair of rounded handles and pronounced curved lip reference traditional pottery forms.
