Marionetta I

This enameled copper vessel, handmade in Venice and entitled Marionetta I, references the imperfection of assemblage, and draws visually from such diverse sources as vampires, Dracula, the Wizard of Oz's "Tin Man" as well as gothic 1980s French beauty advertising, like Serge Lutens ads for Shiseido. The incredible process of creating this work involves firing glass at high heat, to create a liquid-like surface on top of the copper vessel.
