Fasciated I

For this collection of champagne glasses, made in collaboration with glassblowers in the Czech Republic, the family-owned glass workshop employed a freeform technique, applying excess heat to create a pearly opacity, not unlike René Lalique from the 19th century. Inspired partly by the visual vernacular of historical Italian nun habits, ready to take flight, these have a double chalice and like glass, and exhibit a fluidity that resembles a moving fabric.
