This beautiful slat-back settee likely originated from New York, c. 1815. With its original green painted finish, the backing is decorated with a guilloche of yellow leaves and salmon ovals. Each thumbnail support is terminated with a gold stenciled leaf. Curved arms and turned art supports flank the original rush seating, which rests on flared legs with ball feet; a truly special piece.
