These rearing dog sculptures, composed of wood and plaster and coated in layers of meticulously hand-stitched soft velvet and silk, are evocative of iconography found in early Renaissance pottery, within a new vernacular of materiality. In the historical tradition of displaying fine sculpture upon formal plinths, the work simultaneously considers notions of softness, and slump.
