Nick Poe
Nick Poe’s Painted Pot Lamp is composed of an Eastern Turkish glazed terracotta pot from the 1920s. It is hand painted in a scallop pattern of earthy tones that seemingly swirl and bleed, akin to mochaware. The base anchors an elongated cotton electrical cord, attaching to an elegant French milk glass shade from the 1930s. The complete series is a study in the recontextualization of naturally found treasure, as well as the way in which these lighting forms can intervene and unite space architecturally.
