Bruno Grizzo
The artist Bruno Grizzo’s Mobile evokes atmospheric surrealism through its dynamic and winding vibrancy. Hand forged flowers possess a variety of patinas, and are articulated in cut copper, steel and brass. Many of the materials are actually found or reclaimed from scavenging through a junkyard near the artist’s studio in Brooklyn. Inspired by Brazilian indigenous feather works, each component is shaped into lightweight folds and forms and delicately enameled in a rainbow of striking hues. The shadows cast by the medley of shapes transform into a myriad of postures, swelling and shrinking with the expansive capacity of the sculpture.
