Quarter Sawn Oak Library Table

Not Attributed

Made of rare tiger oak, this antique quarter sawn library table is a timeless piece that eludes historical style categorization. Though classical in form with its scrolled pedestal feet, the overall proportions are exaggerated to somewhat outlandish proportions. The table evokes a Postmodern design sensibility, echoing furniture forms akin to those by architects Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown.
