Vanity Table

Custom made in the 1990s for a private client, this vanity table is a lovely example of the trompe l'oeil technique, as the painted wooden surface deftly emulates stone carving and three-dimensional relief. Wash in delicate hues of baby blue and cream tones, the work is punctuated by elegant brass knobs. A substantial ivory marble top serves as a smooth and gentle surface for makeup, oils, perfumes, and other accoutrements for dressing.
