Life in Pink
Libby Rosen was formed through the shared interests and parallel practices of its two collaborators, Anne Libby and Anna Rosen, who met in New York City and later relocated to Los Angeles. After establishing studios in the same building, their proximity fostered ongoing dialogue that led to a shared mutual admiration. Rosen’s practice centers on marbling, in which acrylic pigment is suspended on the top of a pool of water, and then the paper or fabric is dragged across. This process creates endlessly interesting biomorphic forms. Libby explores the representation of reflections through polished metal and quilted works, which abstracts glass facades into liquified surfaces. United by their many overlapping interests and artistic preoccupations, their series exemplifies their evolving notions of abstraction, transformation, and perspective.
