Utilizing industrial materials and techniques, artist Matt Paweski’s metal sculptures are hand-assembled, riveted, and painted aluminum finished with a vinyl painted matte surface. Paweski is drawn to what he describes as their sensuous qualities: their tactility and strength, as well as their capacity to appear slick, smooth and haptic. Flat and graphic in nature, his sculptures demonstrate a profound level of technical precision, but also illicit engagement with both positive and negative space, composition and color palette.
