Bar Cart
This large mid-century bar cart reflects a nautical design vocabulary characteristic of leisure-oriented domestic furniture and objects produced in the 1940s. Constructed from lightweight aluminum, the cart features a two-tier shelving system and an integrated bottle holder. Distinct, decorative cutouts of sailboats and anchors animate the side panels, which are secured to the frame using rope cordage – much like the rope systems that fasten sails to a mast. Resting on four rubber casters, the cart is designed for flexibility of movement, and most likely made a welcome presence on a hotel pool deck or seaside boardwalk.
