Tole Cachepot
This tole painted cachepot originates from the 19th century, and exemplifies the decorative refinement of the French Empire style. Painted tole, also known as “tinware”, was very popular in France during the 19th century, and praised for its affordability and durability without the sacrifice of its ornamental appeal. Beautifully handpainted in crimson, mustard and forest green, the vessel’s crenellated rim evokes the architectural form of a medieval castle. The tray has cut-out handles integrated on either side for ease of use.
