May Jhon Chair & Ottoman
In 1970, Bepi Fiori designed the May Jhon Chair & Ottoman for Bernini, the Italian design firm founded in 1904 near Mantua, Italy. Fiori served as the Creative Director of the company until the 1990s. Fiori’s chair and ottoman exemplify Bernini’s staunch advocacy of designers that exemplified fine craftsmanship and their exploration of intricate design mechanisms. The chair has an adjustable back and ottoman with a hinged construction, allowing it to become a sort of “rocking chair”. With original, sumptuous chestnut suede cushions and black leather trim, Fiori’s design is architecturally sculptural yet very soft and comfortable.
