Fortuny
Founded by Spanish artist and fashion designer Mariano Fortuny, the beloved textile house Fortuny has a long legacy of sumptuous soft goods made with exquisite materials and superior craftsmanship. This antique Samarkanda Lamp was designed in 1904 and named after the city in present day Uzbekistan, an important place of craft production on the historic Silk Road. The lamp eloquently echoes design motifs from Western Europe and the Far East, composed of suspended dome twists and a ripple of handpainted Art Deco patterns that reverberate between handsewn boning details.
