Grace Atkinson
Grace Atkinson's ever-evolving practice exhibits an utmost meticulousness, remarkable artistic deftness as well as the artist’s deep well of thoughtfulness and feeling. Vague Terrain I serves as a contemplative consideration into the way in which the repetitive process of enmeshing two seemingly disparate materials into one can yield a new landscape. The eggshell-hued silk is simultaneously delicate while also entangled into a compelling language that distorts and disintegrates into the linen. With its borders vague, the work creates the perception of that which is revealed rather than placed.
