Duna Modular Armchair for 1P, 1969

EMILIO GUARNACCI, FELIX PADOVANO AND CLAUDIO VAGNONI

Designed by Emilio Guarnacci, Felix Padovano and Claudio Vagnoni for 1P in 1969, this armchair was coined “Duna” (“Dune” in English) due to its voluminous cushioning and soft undulations. The Duna furniture system consists of separate modular pieces that can be flexibly arranged into different groupings. Rich, camel colored cushions rest upon polyurethane resin frames, celebrating new material technologies and production methods, while also exploring the playful and mobile sensibility of the design world at the time.
