This Flemish tapestry is unique in its narrative, vibrant color and pristine condition. Made from woven wool and silk, it deftly depicts a beautiful wooded landscape and with a river flowing from a castle in the distance. The vegetation is abundant; on the banks of the river grow long reeds, and ducks and their ducklings enjoy a swim. A hoopoe bird sits on a branch. This whole scene is framed by a rich floral border consisting of roses, tulips and other flowers.
