Troposphere Pour 2

Troposphere Pours are sculptural wall pieces that were made by pouring pewter over burlap, allowing it to pool unpredictably before the fabric is removed, revealing a fragmented grid. Variations in flow, cooling rate, and interaction with the burlap create unique surface textures and golden patinas from burnt fabric. Rings and marks preserve the metal’s movement and the contours of memory. The works also explore scale and perspective: from above, the grids suggest a city seen through clouds, while each piece retains distinct boundaries. The study of these materials—one present, one absent—underscores the tension between control and chance, transience and permanence.
