Jordan McDonald is a ceramic artist based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His work can be found in noteworthy private and public collections including the Gardiner Museum in Toronto and the Yingge Ceramics Museum in Taipei, Taiwan.
The process of making is important to McDonald, who doesn’t avoid expressing humanness when creating with clay. He is also very attentive when researching. McDonald has said that he finds inspiration from descriptions of pottery which “hold some potent information”. His use of history comes across with subtle and abstract references of forms, glazes, and uses of his functional and charming pieces.
