Vicky Colombet (b. 1953, Paris, France) has exhibited extensively internationally. Rather than depict a specific place, Colombet's paintings evoke the idea of landscape itself. Working with hand-ground natural pigments, she creates atmospheric compositions that capture the fleeting qualities of mist, wind, water, and light. Guided as much by the physical properties of her materials as by the artist's hand, her paintings emerge through a process that embraces chance, sedimentation, and movement. Rooted in decades of Buddhist study and practice, Colombet's work reflects an ongoing exploration of perception, materiality, and the relationship between the natural world and inner experience.

Recent institutional exhibitions include Unexpected Dialogue: Monet/Colombet at the Musée Marmottan Monet, Paris (2020), which paired her work with paintings by Claude Monet, followed by The Sun Rises Everyday: Monet, Colombet, Fromanger at the Bund Art Museum, Shanghai (2020–21). Her work is currently on view in Pollen, curated by Cédric Fauq at CAPC Musée d'Art Contemporain, Bordeaux, and will be included in Histoires de Paysages – De Monet à Hockney, curated by Pierre Wat, at the Musée Marmottan Monet, Paris (2026), before traveling to the Musée de Grenoble (2027). Additional upcoming presentations include The Durand-Ruel Legacy at Geelong Gallery, Australia (2026), a solo exhibition at the Maison Française at New York University (2026) and a solo exhibition at James Cohan, New York (2026).

Her work is held in the collections of CAPC Musée d'Art Contemporain, Bordeaux; the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; the Buffalo AKG Art Museum; and the Musée Marmottan Monet, Paris, among other public and private collections. She is the recipient of grants from the Esther and Adolf Gottlieb Foundation and the Pollock-Krasner Foundation.
